BOONE, Iowa — The Iowa 4-H Foundation is excited to host the second annual Iowa 4-H Giving Day, Give. Grow. Iowa 4-H, on Tuesday, October 8th. This is a 24-hour online event to provide the financial support needed to help the 4-H Program continue its work across the state of Iowa and locally in Boone County.
Give. Grow. Iowa 4-H day aims to engage 4-H alumni all over Iowa and have fun promoting 4-H experiences via social media. Alumni, families, members and friends are encouraged to join the fun on October 8. There are several ways to participate:
- Use #GrowIowa4H on social media, sharing 4-H memories and old photos
- Wear green on Tuesday, October 8
- Give any amount at www.iowa4hgiving.org
- Share why you are participating in Iowa 4-H Giving Day
All the money raised from Give. Grow. Iowa 4-H will go directly back to the 4-H Program. Participants can give specifically to one of the four Iowa 4-H priority areas: Communication & the Arts, Healthy Living, Leadership & Civic Engagement and STEM, or a participating county.
“Our members and alumni share time and time again the incredible impact that 4-H has had on their lives. We hope many will join us on October 8th to be part of a collective effort to strengthen the 4-H program and better serve the youth of Boone County,” said Alex Merk, Boone County director for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
For those who are not online, you can still spread the word and help grow Iowa 4-H. Mail or drop off a gift to Boone County and specify it’s for Give. Grow. Iowa 4-H Giving Day.
Visit www.iowa4hgivingday.org to learn more. Participants can also sign up to be fundraising champions for Boone County or Iowa 4-H to make an even greater impact.
We want to color the state green on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Thank you for helping us make this day a success and growing Iowa 4-H!
