FREEPORT, Ill. — If you are interested in learning how to make squash go from ordinary to extra-ordinary, then check out this fall programming favorite, Getting the Scoop on Winter Squash! During this workshop, Nutrition & Wellness Educator, Diane Reinhold, will discuss a variety of common and not so common varieties of winter squash. As well as, how to select and store winter squash, and offer great ideas on how to prepare and use these culinary favorites. This workshop will also cover topics such as the nutritional benefits of winter squash, and discuss fun ways to incorporate squash into everyday life with fun and flavorful recipes.
Getting the Scoop on Winter Squash, will be held at the University of Illinois Extension located in the Community Services Building at Highland Community College on Thursday, November 8, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
