At this training for licensed and un-licensed pesticide applicators, farmers will learn how to select spray nozzles, reduce drift and effectively apply pesticides. Sprayer set-up and calibration will be taught, along with NYS DEC record keeping requirements, understanding labels and proper selection and wearing of personal protective equipment. Farmers should bring a sample of the water they use for mixing sprays, preferably in a clear jar, so they can test it for pH and hardness at the meeting.
The two CORE credits available at this training can be applied to any category of pesticide license. Homeowners and farmers who apply general-use pesticides are not required to have a pesticide applicator license.
