Getting the garden ready for planting

What exactly is soil & why should we worry about it if we are planning on a garden this spring?

BOLIVAR, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Allegany County’s Master Gardener Program in conjunction with the Bolivar Free Library are hosting the spring garden talk, “Getting the Garden Ready for Planting.”

Master Gardener Mary Lu Wells will discuss: What exactly is soil and why should we worry about it if we are planning on a garden this spring? What do I add, if anything, to the garden? When do I add it? Are raised beds better? Do I need wooden sides or is there another way? Come get answers to all of these questions and a lot more – April 25th at 6:00 pm at the library. Call the Bolivar Library at 585-928-2015 to sign-up for this informative talk.
