URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Severe weather season is here. Would you like to have a better understanding of tornadoes, thunderstorms, lightning, and other types of severe weather? If so, consider attending a Severe Weather Webinar Thursday afternoon, April 25. The webinar will be hosted in the U of I Extension Offices in Jo Daviess, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties. The presentation will be delivered via web conferencing at each site from 1:30 to 3 pm.
Extension Educator and weather instructor Duane Friend will cover current research on tornadoes and lightning; types of tornadoes and thunderstorms; Information on tornadic winds, damage and protection, and interesting facts on tornadoes, thunderstorms and lightning.
The seminar is free to attend, but registration is required by April 24. Space is limited. Registration can be made online at go.illinois.edu/jsw or by calling your local Extension office:
