COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — The Gateway Green Industry Conference is now taking registrations for the 2018 conference being held on Wednesday, March 7 at the Gateway Convention Center, Collinsville.
The educational program has a track for sports turf, golf, landscape, arborist, plantscape, parks and recreation as well as green industry. If you work in lawn care, landscaping, nursery, a garden center, golf course or any other grounds-related industry, you can get new ideas and research-based information at the Gateway Green Industry Conference. This conference is open to anyone interested in learning more in these categories. Registration remains a great bargain at $80. There is a discounted rate for full-time students and active Master Gardeners and Master Naturalist.

- Perennial Stars on the Horizon; and Fifty Shapes of Shade; Martha Smith, University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator
- Successful Nursery Stock Transplanting – Mark Grueber, Missouri Department of Conservation and Daniel Moncheski, Missouri Department of Conservation
- Underutilized Native Trees for Landscaping, and Invasive Plants and Human Health – Chris Evans, Forestry Extension and Research Specialist, University of Illinois Extension
- Tree Care and Urban Soils; and Pruning Techniques for Small Trees and Shrubs – Ryan Pankau, University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator
- The Art of Combining Native Perennials – Scott Woodbury, Shaw Nature Reserve
- Pollinators and Landscapers and Top Ten Illinois Tree Pests: What’s Bugging that Tree? – Kelly Allsup, University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator
Other featured classes include: Compost Recipe Development and Odor Management; Woody Vines; Practical Pond Management; and Emerging and Exotic Diseases in Trees and Ornamentals.
Continuing education units to maintain a variety of certifications are available, too. This event is open to the general public.
