WATERLOO, Iowa — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Black Hawk County and the Black Hawk County Master Gardeners are working with the Waterloo Public Library and Cedar Falls Public Library to present a new 2018 Gardening Series. Local Master Gardeners and growing experts will present live classes on a variety of gardening and growing topics. Residents and groups from surrounding communities are encouraged to attend.
Gardening Series classes are FREE and open to the public. There is no pre-registration and the public may attend as many or few classes as they wish as these class topics are presented as individual units. Classes start at 7:00 pm and run for about 1 hour with time for questions and answers afterward.

How to Create to Prettiest Container Gardens – Linda Manske – Corner Market & Greenhouse on Monday April 16th at the Waterloo Public Library.
Growing Big Things in Small Gardens- Square Foot Gardening Basics – Sheila Sartorius – ISU Extension & Outreach, Dick Young Greenhouse Manager is scheduled for Wednesday, Aprils 18 at the Cedar Falls Public Library.
Black Gold; Tips for Making your Own Compost – Pat Higby – Retired Energy Education and Outreach Coordinator, UNI is Saturday April 28th from 10AM-11:30 at the Waterloo Public Library or 1:00-2:30pm at the Cedar Falls Public Library.
Whats New in the Garden for 2018 – Heidi Tietz-DeSilva – Petersen & Tietz Greenhouse is Tuesday, May 1st at the Cedar Falls Public Library or Monday May 7th at the Waterloo Public Library.
Gardening with Kids – Bring the Whole Family – Emily Samuelson & FoodCorps Members from ISU Extension & Outreach on Tuesday, May 1st at the Waterloo Public Library from 10-11:30am or 1-3:00pm at the Cedar Falls Public Library.
Planning & Planting for Perfect Preservation – Jill Weber of ISU Human Sciences Extension & Outreach will be a hot topic on Tuesday, May 8th at the Cedar Falls Public Library and May 14th at the Waterloo Public Library.
