New Jersey Conference of Tourism

The celebration of New Jersey wine and agritourism continues through December, when the GSWGA proudly sponsors the New Jersey Conference on Tourism December 1 & 2, 2022.

“The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association recognizes the distinction wines grown in New Jersey bring to events, activities and milestones in and around our state,” says Lori A. Pepenella, CDME President NJTIA. “It is with great excitement that the Garden State Wine Growers Association is supporting our 2022 Tourism Conference as a  Premium Sponsor and will also be presenting our much anticipated Thursday Evening Network Reception in Resorts Atlantic City. We have had the continued privilege to work alongside this dedicated group growing tourism into one of the Garden State’s most important assets.”  2022 National Economic Impact Study.

The Garden State Wine Growers Association is delighted to share key takeaways from a 2022 National Economic Impact Study of the Wine Industry released by WineAmerica, the National Association of American Wineries in Washington, DC. Perry notes, “The New Jersey wine industry is a major magnet for tourists and tourism-driven expenditures. New Jersey’s ‘wine country’ generates 272,500 tourist visits and $92.48 million in annual tourism expenditures, benefiting local economies and tax bases. The wine industry  promotes agritourism and sustainability in the Garden State.”

Passport Program

To advance agritourism and consumption of New< Jersey wine, the Garden State Wine Growers Association developed a mobile app and Passport Program, making it easy to discover New Jersey wine country and experience all of New Jersey’s Wine Trails.

The Garden State is home to four thriving American Viticultural Areas (AVA)s: the Cape May Peninsula AVA, the Outer Coastal Plain AVA covering 9 southern counties, the Warren Hills AVA, and the Central Delaware Valley AVA, which is shared with portions of Eastern Pennsylvania. Vineyards and wineries may be found in each AVA; Trail Weekends, festivals and events are held year-round throughout the state.
