FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State plant science students won five of six awards in the research poster competition held Jan. 31 at the California Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy annual conference at the Fresno DoubleTree Conference Center.

Master’s students Giuliano Galdi (first place), Touyee Thao (second place) and Amninder Singh (third place) swept all three honors in the graduate student competition. Seniors Alexis Jackson and Jessie Brazil placed first and second, respectively, in the undergraduate section.

Students from Chico State and UC Davis also competed, and award winners received $600 for first place, $400 for second place and $300 for third place. Students detailed their research findings in collaboration with project mentors by using summaries, data, images and graphics.
