UTICA, N.Y. — CCE Oneida County is operating the Oneida County Urban Learning Lab in the retired Express agency (REA) wing at historic Union Station, in Utica, NY. Sessions started June 12th, with feedback from participates and interested community members we are excited to announce an additional weeknight series starting, Wednesday, June 30th from 5pm to 7pm.
The Learning Lab is an experiential training facility for aspiring urban farmers and growers who face business start-up barriers and limited resources or just want to learn more about gardening in an urban area. The program will help manage risks in the areas of production, market development, and business/financial planning due to lack of experience, growing space, access to capital, and other resources. You will learn and work in teams to cultivate and harvest an indoor farm adjacent to the Oneida County Public Market where you will have an opportunity to engage in direct selling of fresh produce at the Market.
Register now for our second summer series starting June 30th at 5 pm. Register online at https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/OCLearningLab_230. This FREE program is open to all Oneida County residents interested in farming and growing in an urban setting!
If interested in being part of this learning experience, please contact Maryellen Wiley at mfw73@cornell.edu or by phone at 315.736.3394 ext. 177.
