ORISKANY, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County together with NYS DEC ReLeaf Council and Master Gardener Volunteers are sponsoring a hands on tree transplanting workshop on Wednesday, October 3rd starting at 9:30am at the Extension office. Location: Oneida County Farm & Home Center, 121 Second Street, Oriskany, NY.
NYS DEC Foresters will begin the workshop inside with a presentation on the basics of tree transplanting. Following the presentation, we will go outside and transplant apple trees to a new location on the grounds. This workshop is free to the public. Please RSVP to Terri Harrison if you plan on attending at (315)736-3394 ext. 168.
Dress for the weather (bring gloves and hat) and be prepared for hands on learning, helping to dig the trees out from current location and transplanting them to new location.
Department of Environmental Conservation NYS ReLeaf Council brings people together to share information about trees and ways to improve the future of trees in our communities. ReLeaf creates a partnership between forestry professionals and dedicated citizens. It harness the financial resources of government and the private sector; provides an opportunity for talented volunteers to use their special skills to enhance the effort; and creates positive and permanent changes.
