ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Do you make and sell baked goods, canned pickles, salsa or other foods? You may make these items from your home and sell items at farmers markets. Suzanne Driessen and Kathy Brandt, University of Minnesota Extension food safety educators developed online resources to help keep your food safe and legal. Safe food sampling at farmers markets video series, checklist and resources help you plan and prepare food products samples for customers to try. You will learn key points of the 2014 Minnesota Safe Food Sampling Law. Included are the what, where and how product samples can be offered. Cottage food producers can find training opportunities, a blog that answers questions related to making and selling safe food under the Cottage Food Law, as well as a Cottage food resource hub with links and recommended resources to assist or grow your cottage food business.
