CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Central Pennsylvania dairy producers are invited to the “Dairy Focus: Spend Less, Make More” workshop to learn more about the financial aspects of their operation and identify potential roadblocks to profitability.
Hosted by the Penn State Extension Dairy Team, this event will be held on Friday, March 6 at the Ag Heritage Building, 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Franklin County. To be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., all producers and industry representatives are invited to focus on current and trending topics in the industry.
Topics to be discussed include:
Importance of understanding finances and financial status of operations
Annual heifer dynamics
Earning more milk quality premiums
Opportunities in cropping systems for financial improvements
Presenters will include Extension educators Cassie Yost, Timothy Beck, Samantha Robison, Amber Yutzy, and Brittany Clark.
Attendees are eligible for one CORE credit. There is a $10 charge and a hot lunch will be provided. Walk-in registrants will be accepted; however, for an accurate lunch count pre-registration is encouraged by Monday, March 2.
