ORLANDO, Fla. — FNGLA is excited to announce seven industry award winners have been added to its impressive ranks. Here is the lineup:
- Outstanding Chapter Leader – Stefan Liopiros, Gainesville, FL
- Outstanding Educator – John Conroy, Zolfo Springs, FL
- Outstanding Volunteer – Gary Weitermann, Orlando, FL
- Farm Credit/FNGLA Young Nursery Professional – Autumn Schwab White, Tampa, FL
- Wendell E. Butler Award – Lloyd Singleton, Wilmington, NC
- Hall of Fame inductee – Jerry Frye, Homestead, FL
- Friend of the Industry – Michael Dukes, Ph.D., Gainesville, FL
FNGLA’s Industry Awards Program acknowledges both FNGLA and industry service – with varying criteria geared for each award. Nominations are accepted from the industry-at-large and winners are selected by a committee of industry peers.
Winners are recognized and honored at FNGLA’s Annual Meeting held each June at FNGLA’s Annual Convention. The Wendell E. Butler Award recipient and the FNGLA Hall of Fame inductee are specially honored, yet all recipients are celebrated. Nominations are sought from the industry.
The FNGLA is the nation’s largest state nursery and landscape association, representing Florida‘s environmental horticulture industry which generated $21 billion total output sales in 2015 and directly employed 232,000 people.
