TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Department of Agriculture Secretary Douglas Fisher will highlight the Jersey Fresh strawberry season with a visit to Specca’s Farm, a pick-your-own location, in Burlington County on Thursday. Strawberries are in season through much of New Jersey.
Specca’s Farm is one of many pick-your-own locations offering the sweet, red fruit at this time of year in New Jersey. The Speccas have been farming in Burlington County since the early 1900s.
The Garden State’s strawberry season usually runs from mid-May to mid-June. The fruit is mainly found at pick-your-own farms, community farmers markets and roadside markets. Consumers can find where to buy strawberries and pick-your-own locations by going to findjerseyfresh.com.
