TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher will travel throughout the state on Thursday, Friday and Monday on his “Jersey Fresh Tour,” making stops at a supermarket, farms and a roadside stand farm market highlighting the peak of Jersey Fresh season in the Garden State.
The tour will include visits to the ShopRite of Greater Morristown, Morris County, which features Jersey Fresh products in its produce section; Larchmont Farms in Salem County, which specializes in peach production; Sun Valley Orchards in Gloucester County, which is large producer of peppers; and Ron’s Gardens market at Farley Plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County.
The department has been showcasing many Jersey Fresh products with its #jerseyfreshlove photo contest on Instagram and also its #JerseyFreshcipes recipe contest at http://jerseyfresh.nj.gov/recipecontest.html as well. The photos have depicted farm visits, recipes, home-grown produce, farmers markets and more.
The Jersey Fresh program is 33 years old this year and identifies to consumers produce grown by New Jersey farmers.
