PUEBLO, Colo. — Artists throughout Colorado are busy preparing their artwork for the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. The popular and prestigious part of the annual event showcases original artwork by Colorado residents.
All artwork chosen for the exhibition will be on display in the Fine Arts Building during the entire length of the Fair. Two divisions for artwork submission are being offered: Emerging Artist and Professional.
New this year, the Professional division has expanded from five to eight categories and are now painting, drawing and printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital arts, mixed media, fiber art, and jewelry/metalsmithing. This is consistent with the Emerging Artist division.
Artists may enter between now and July 27th, through the Fair’s General Entry office, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm, call 719-404-2080, or online at www.coloradostatefair.com. Also new this year, artists are requested to register on or before July 27th and the artwork will be received at the State Fairgrounds on July 29th.

The 2017 Colorado State Fair will mark the Fair’s 145th year as Colorado’s premier celebration of agriculture. The Fairgrounds provides nearly $34 million in economic activity to Colorado throughout the year; $29 million of that activity is driven by the annual State Fair event. In addition to showcasing Colorado agriculture, the annual event features one of the country’s largest traveling carnivals, artwork, crafts, food competitions, thrilling rodeo action, a wide variety of food and merchandise booths and a Fiesta Day honoring Colorado’s ties to the Hispanic culture.
