The Great Lakes Crop Summit is the only event in Michigan focused exclusively on corn, soybean and wheat growers. Last year, more than 1,000 people from across Michigan attended.
The Great Lakes Crop Summit is proud to present three keynote speakers who will stretch your understanding of the agriculture industry and help growers make smart decisions to improve their bottom line. Keynote presentations include:
- “Ag policy under the Trump Administration and the current Congress” – Dr. Barry Flinchbaugh, Kansas State University
- “Right sizing today’s farm” – Chris Barron, Ag View Solutions, Rowley, Iowa
- “Keep your head up and look for opportunities in the 2018 grain markets: Four steps to becoming a better marketer” – Mark Gold, Top Third Ag Marketing
The conference also includes breakout sessions for everyone on the farm from employees to family members. Topics include: agronomy, pest management, marketing, business management, soil and weather, farm family issues and technology. In addition, attendees have the opportunity to network and learn about the latest agricultural products and services at the trade show, which features more than 60 exhibitors.
The conference includes several screenings of Food Evolution, a film from Academy Award-nominated director Scott Hamilton Kennedy, which explores the controversy surrounding GMOs and food.
Attendees can earn ten Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) credits, ten Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credits and one Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) credit for attending.
The Michigan Corn Growers Association and the Michigan Soybean Association will also hold their 2018 annual meetings during GLCS.
Registration and a full schedule are available online at www.GreatLakesCropSummit.com and hotel discounts are available.
The Great Lakes Crop Summit is a joint effort of the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan, the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee and the Michigan Wheat Program.
