“If you grow soybeans, you can’t afford to miss this,” says John Longley, soybean farmer and ISA production and outreach committee chair from Aledo, Ill. “It gives farmers the opportunity to hear from local experts about technology and practices that are increasing yields and maximizing profits.”
“ISA is committed to helping our state’s soybean farmers be more successful, competitive and profitable,” says Linda Kull, ISA director of strategic research programs. “The past two years of free, local field days have successfully allowed us to interact directly with more farmers.”
Both events begin with check-in and registration at 7:30 a.m. and conclude by noon. The field days are free and include a light breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Additionally, each field day offers four continuing education units (CEUs) in the form of two crop management CEUs and two pest management CEUs for any Certified Crop Advisers. For registration and detailed information on the events, visit www.ilsoy.org/fielddays. Pre-event registration is encouraged.
ISA represents more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois through the state soybean checkoff and membership efforts. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and profitability research, promotion, issues management and analysis, communications and education. Membership and advocacy efforts support Illinois soybean farmer interests in local areas, Springfield and Washington, D.C. ISA programs are designed to ensure Illinois soy is the highest quality, most dependable, sustainable and competitive in the global marketplace. For more information, visit the website www.ilsoy.org.
