Attendees will see the proper ways to determine crop load and how to take action using fruit thinning. Noble Research Institute pecan specialists will also discuss how to determine when the nuts are mature enough to properly thin the trees.
A demonstration of the proper equipment for fruit thinning will be given, if weather permits.
Pecan producers who have producing, improved-variety trees and are interested in improving their quality and return bloom are encouraged to attend.
This event is in the field, so weather-appropriate attire is encouraged.
There is no fee for this event, but participants must register online by July 23 to attend. For more information and to register, please visit www.noble.org/events.
