ARDMORE, Okla. —The Noble Research Institute will host a Small Property Livestock and Wildlife Field Day from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, June 1, at the Noble Research Institute McMillan East Farm, located at 22992 Canyon Road in Madill, Oklahoma.

This field day will showcase the Noble Research Institute’s McMillan East Farm and demonstrate strategies that landowners can use for managing livestock, grazing and wildlife habitat. Agricultural consultants will also discuss how to balance livestock and wildlife goals.

“Many small property owners desire a balance of livestock, wildlife and lifestyle,” said Steven Smith, wildlife and fisheries consultant. “The Noble Research Institute McMillan East property has been managed with these goals in mind. We will show the management practices that have been put in place to achieve these goals.”

Consultants will discuss practices such as management of native and introduced pastures through a stocker cattle grazing program, strategic fertilization and weed control, prescribed burning, and brush control.

This workshop is offered at no charge, but preregistration is required. For more information or to preregister, please visit www.noble.org/agevents or contact Danielle Pacifico at 580-224-6376 or Trisha DeLozier at 580-224-6377.
