JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Farmers and ranchers who have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may qualify for relief provided by the USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). A variety of commodities are eligible for CFAP, with more than 40 additional commodities being added in the last month.
Qualifying commodities now include non-specialty crops, wool, livestock, dairy and specialty crops. The program provides vital financial assistance to producers who have suffered a five percent or greater price decline, or who had losses due to market supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19 and face additional significant marketing costs.
Farmers and ranchers are urged to work with their local Farm Service Agency office on any questions regarding CFAP. Applications and information on additional documentation needed can be found here. Farm Service Agency offices are accepting applications through Friday, Aug. 28, 2020.
