YORK CO., Maine — A free public presentation, “Farmer to Farmer Program in Tanzania,” will highlight the York County Extension Association annual meeting, 6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Downs Conference Room, 15 Oak St., Springvale.
York County Extension Educator, Frank Wertheim, just returned from a 22-day volunteer agricultural assignment with the Farmer to Farmer program in a rural village in Tanzania. Wertheim worked to advise Small Holder Farmers struggling to make a living producing vegetables. He will share his experiences, challenges and accomplishments with a slide presentation and discussion of his trip.
A dessert social will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the York County Extension Association’s brief annual meeting and Frank Wertheim’s talk. All are welcome!
