ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The Women in Ag Network’s December 14 workshop will focus on how to start the farm transition planning process.
The “Farm Business Transition: Where Do I Begin” program is designed for farm family members of any age or generation. The interactive workshop will be December 14, 2017 from 9:30-2:30 at the St. Cloud Regional Extension Office (3601 18th St S #113; St Cloud, MN 56301). The cost for the program is $20, which includes lunch and a resource booklet. Register and pay online by December 6 at z.umn.edu/WAGN-Transition.
“Every farmer will transition their farm at one point. This class is instrumental in starting and continuing the conversation of transition,” said Nathan Hulinsky, Extension Educator. “The class covers a wide variety of transition topics and focuses on the goals of everyone involved in the operation.” Participants will learn about different communications styles; transfer of labor, income, management, and assets; retirement considerations for the senior generation; assessment of an operation’s financial viability; and goal-setting.
