ENFIELD, Conn. — Have you captured a creative image on the farm, in the woods or at the dock that represents modern Northeast agriculture, commercial fishing or forest products? Share it with Farm Credit East by uploading your best photos to FarmCreditEast.com by July 31.
Winning photographs will be featured in Farm Credit East’s 2019 calendar and also on its website. From all entries, 14 photos will be selected for a $100 prize each. Additional photos will be selected to fill the calendar pages, each earning a $25 prize.
“The judges look for fresh imagery that illustrates progressive agriculture industries,” says Kristie Matuszewski, Farm Credit East director of marketing and communications. “We look for photos that represent Northeast farming, horticulture, forestry and commercial fishing during every season, as well as shots that celebrate rural life in New England, New York or New Jersey.”
What makes a shot a winner? Technical quality, clarity and composition, of course, but the team also selects photos that capture unique views of modern agriculture and life in the country. So take your camera out to the field, barn or dock, in the tractor cab, out on the open water, into the woods, or to the county fair, and send in the many views of agriculture enriching northeast rural communities.
“Now in its twelfth year, the number of entries and creativity of submissions continues to grow,” says Matuszewski. “Last year, we received more than 700 images from dozens of talented photographers. We look forward to receiving many more entries this year.”
Only digital photos are accepted. Contest rules and an entry form, as well as inspiration from previous years’ calendars, can be found at FarmCreditEast.com/Calendar. The submission deadline is July 31, 2018.
