NORTHAMPTOM, Mass. — In celebration of the Three County Fair’s 200th anniversary, Hampshire County Farm Bureau has teamed up with the fair to host a tractor ride on Sept. 2, 2017. Make plans to attend and/or enter your tractor today!
During the two-mile tractor parade, the public will have the opportunity to see in person tractors that have been used throughout the years in honor of the Three County Fair’s 200th anniversary. The Three County Fair was started as an agricultural fair and it remains agricultural focused today. This ride helps encompass the fair’s theme for the year, Remembering the Past, Embracing the Future.
“The tractor parade route goes through downtown Northampton to the Fairgrounds and past the historic Grandstands,” said Bruce Shallcross, Three County Fair general manager. “The parade immediately proceeds the 200th Fair Ceremony at the grandstand. By doing this, the parade will connect the city to its agricultural base in the Northampton Meadows.”
Tractors must be in place by 10 a.m. on Sept. 2. All drivers must have a valid license, rubber wheeled tractors, no passengers, tractors capable of 12 mph, working brakes, slow moving vehicle sign(s) and no trailers. Please note that all tractors are subject to inspection.
To register to ride, please send your name, address, phone, license number and tractor year, make and model to Richard Jaescke at 774 Bridge Rd, Northampton, MA 01060. Entries are due by Aug. 19.
Hampshire County Farm Bureau and the Three County Fair look forward to seeing you and possibly your tractor at the upcoming tractor parade.
