WOOSTER, Ohio — The Ashland & Wayne County Young Ag Professionals and the Medina County Young Farmers hosted their Fifth Annual Ag Toy Drive on Nov. 30, at Lincoln Way Vineyards. After sponsorships and individual contributions were counted, more than $11,000 in agricultural toys were donated to Associated Charities of Ashland County, Medina Toys for Tots, and Wayne County Toys for Tots this holiday season.
Each year, the event seeks partnerships with local businesses prior to the event to increase the overall impact
“The success of this event relies so much on our community rallying together around the value of agriculture. It’s been exciting to watch the engagement with this event grow. The list of reoccurring, long-time sponsors is just as long as the list of new, first-time sponsors – and we’re grateful for all of them! The passion, investment and dedication our local business owners have for their community is inspiring,” said Bailey Morrell, Committee Chair.
2021 Legacy Sponsors include: Apple Creek Banking Co, Bauman Oil, Cargill, Commodity Blenders, Farm Credit Mid-America, Gerwig’s White Barn, Heffelfinger’s Meats, Jones Livestock, Park National Bank, Slicker Farms and Rural King Supply – Wooster.
2021 Gold Sponsors include: Certified Angus Beef, Davis Tree Farm & Nursery, E.R. Boliantz Co., Farmers National Bank, Farmers State Bank, Gerber Feed Service, Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative, Homer Yost Agency, Honey Haven Farm, J Star Equipment, Lowe & Young Inc., Mike & Patti Boyert, Trent Insurance Group, Tyler Grain & Fertilizer, Wayne Savings Community Bank, and WQKT Radio.
Both local business and individual cash donations were used to purchase ag-themed toys within each county. The committee looks forward to continuing the tradition of this event next year!
