MONTROSE, Pa. — Applications are available for the 2019 Susquehanna County 4-H summer assistant. Penn State Extension in Susquehanna County seeks to hire a 4-H Summer Assistant. The summer assistant will plan, implement and evaluate 4-H events, activities and projects with youth at local, area and state 4-H events, as well as various day camps and overnight camp.
The assistant will also provide support at traditional 4-H events by recording registration, chaperoning, conducting workshops and assisting with the management of shows and contests. Assistant will write news releases, social media posts and assist with general marketing to increase public awareness and participation.

Another position the Susquehanna County Commissioners have budgeted is for a part time 4-H program assistant. This position is very exciting because it will help youth in our county grow and learn through the 4-H program and all it offers. The program assistant will support the 4-H programs within Susquehanna County.
The individual will work with the 4-H Educator in maintaining and expanding the 4-H program in the county through a variety of programs. The 4-H Assistant will be responsible to the 4-H Educator. Furthermore, this position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to work independently and the ability to plan and teach activities and educational programs. Must be a team player who can work with diverse youth and adults.
Preference will be given to applicants with undergraduate coursework in education, agriculture, the sciences or other related fields. Previous experience with the 4-H program is preferred.
This position requires the applicant to operate a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks to work with minors. Applicant must also be willing to work flexible hours.
