WEST CHESTER, Pa. — The Exploring the Small Farm Dream start farming course to be held in the Lancaster-Chester–Berks County area in October and November 2019.
This course is designed to help you decide whether starting a farm business is right for you. Exploring the Small Farm Dream is a nine-hour (three evening sessions) course. It includes exploratory farming discussions, farm research tools, and self-assessment activities. By the end of the class you will have a better idea what the business side of starting a small farm is about.
Plus, this course will get you started on a business action plan and will provide you with information to help you decide on getting started. Taught by agribusiness educators at Penn State Extension along with peers and guest speakers, let Exploring the Small Farm Dream lead you on a business journey to explore, organize, and evaluate many of the exciting and unique steps necessary when launching a successful agricultural farming business.
The objective of this intense short course is to help you learn what it takes to start and manage the farm you envision as more than an idea. Let this course help you navigate through the start-up process of starting a small farming business.
