WATERTOWN, N.Y. — If you’ve ever wondered if agriculture might be in your future, make sure to sign up for our Exploring the Small Farm Dream webinar series! In collaboration with the Broome County CCE we will be offering this 4-part series through a webinar at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Association office at 203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown, NY. The sessions will take place on Saturdays from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on January 26th, February 2nd, 9th, and 16th. Participants will receive and use a workbook from the New England Small Farm Institute to understand all aspects of farming and how it may (or may not) fit into your lifestyle.
During this four-part series, participants will begin to think through small scale farming as a business (rather than a hobby), learn what it takes to start and manage a farm business, and decide whether that is something they want to pursue. Through in-classroom education, peer support, and self-study, participants will finish the series answering the question of whether farming is for them, and move onto working through a business plan.
The cost to attend this series is $50/farm or family. FREE for Veterans/Military Families. This includes a workbook to walk through the four-part decision making phase and refreshments provided at each meeting. Registration is required!
