UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Have a burning question about a community forestry issue? Penn State Extension will offer a free webinar focused on municipal and community tree management from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26.
“Advice From the Community Forest: Ask the Experts” is designed for municipal officials, shade tree commissioners, urban foresters, municipal arborists, landscape architects, community planners, volunteer tree tenders and community tree advocates.
According to organizers, attendees can gain a better understanding of urban and community forestry issues, tree equity, and management strategies from across the commonwealth.
A panel of urban forestry educators with Penn State Extension and personnel from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Forestry will tackle participant-submitted questions and scenarios related to municipal and community tree management in streets, parks and natural areas.
Prior to the panel discussion, participants can submit their community forestry-related questions online via a survey link that will be provided immediately after registration. If time permits, attendees can ask questions during the event as well.
This event is sponsored in-part by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Penn State Extension offers this event free of charge, but participants must register by 7:45 p.m. Oct. 25 to receive the link to access the webinar. Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
