HARRISBURG, Pa. — Eva Dumas, 11, of Annville, Lebanon County, rose to the top of 100 exhibitors today to become the Champion Junior Showman of the Youth Showmanship Contest during the 2017 All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.
Dumas also won the Junior Showmanship Division at the 2016 All-American Dairy Show.
The judge selected the top 10 showmen and honorable mentions for each age division. The Champion Junior Showman received a $50 cash award courtesy of Harry E. & Aliene Thompson, Fountain Farm, as well as a custom embroidered Director’s Chair compliments of the Landis Marketing.
Each of the top 10 showmen received a backpack compliments of JBZ Dairy Advantage; a neck medallion courtesy of Fight Bac; a custom-embroidered blanket courtesy of Hoards Dairyman; and an insulated cooler bag courtesy of Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and the Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program. Participants who advanced to the final round, but did not place in the top ten received a cash consolation prize.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting an Ayrshire received an award in honor of Mr. Arthur Clark, funded by the Arthur Clark Showmanship Fund of the U.S. Ayrshire Breeders’ Association.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting a Brown Swiss received the H. Francis Kennedy Award and an embroidered travel bag sponsored by the James L. Kennedy family.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting a Guernsey received a $50 cash award courtesy of the PA Guernsey Association.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting a Jersey received a show halter courtesy of the Pennsylvania Jersey Breeder’s Association.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting a Red and White received a banner courtesy of MD-Hillbrook, Chris and Jennifer Hill.
The highest placing individual in the Junior Showmanship Contest exhibiting a Milking Shorthorn received a gift courtesy of the Mid-Atlantic Milking Shorthorn Society.
All participants received a coupon for a free milkshake, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association.

The All-American Dairy Show features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show. Last year’s show featured nearly 3,000 animals and 1,500 exhibitors from around the country.
