POMPEY, N.Y. — Empire Farm Days, the premier ag show of the Northeast, will be back this Aug. 3 – 5, at a new (old) location – Palladino Farms in Pompey, NY. Palladino Farms last hosted Empire Farm Days back in the 1980s, and they’re excited to welcome us back!

There will also be some great exhibitors joining us this year, including Outdoor Accessibility of New York LLC. They will be showing their Action Trackchair and an Action Trackstander at the exhibit. The Action Trackchair and the Action Trackstander are all-terrain “wheelchairs” designed for the disabled community to get outdoors or get back to work. Farmers can use them to take care of their farm and livestock, and the user can also plow the driveway or even a path.
“We formed Outdoor Accessibility of New York LLC because our son wanted to go hunting with his dad and he had an unfortunate fall from his power wheelchair,” explained Ann Marie Reitano, who runs Outdoor Accessibility with her husband Patrick. “He broke his femur and from then on, he did not want to go hunting again. I searched the internet for something to be able to get him out in the woods again. I came across the Action Trackchair. Our family did some fundraising and we purchased the Action Trackchair. Before the salesperson could deliver the Action Trackchair, he had a stroke. The Pennsylvania salesperson delivered our son’s chair and told us of the ill-fated event of the New York sales rep. We were advised that he could no longer work due to the stroke. He also advised us that not many people are aware of the Action Trackchair. My husband and I thought that this Action Trackchair needed to get out into the public – especially when I saw the look of excitement from my son when he got into the Action Trackchair. I knew we had to get this out there for other disabled people to enjoy the freedom.”
In 2016 they began selling Action Trackchairs and Action Trackstanders as a second job. Patrick works for Wegmans in transportation and Ann Marie stays home to take care of their adult son, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. “We do not sell Action Trackchairs and Action Trackstanders for a living, we sell Action Trackchair and Action Trackstanders so that disabled people live a full life!” Ann Marie said. Make sure to stop by their exhibit to see what Outdoor Accessibility can help you with!
Also on hand will be Kioti Tractors, which has several dealership locations in western New York. Kioti was first introduced to the U.S. in 1986, and over the past 35 years the brand has remained committed to the advancement and growth of tractor technology, value and service. In addition to various sizes of tractors, Kioti sells zero-turn mowers, utility vehicles and equipment attachments, implements and accessories.
Be sure to check out Empire Drone Company too. Empire Drove is one of the fastest growing distributors and integrators for unmanned aerials systems. They offer end-to-end drone program support, including sales, training, maintenance, repairs and leasing, all while providing industry-leading service and support resources for those interested in implementing a successful drone program. As farm technology advances, learning more about drones may be to your advantage.
