LITTLETON, Colo. — The landowners that are actively managing our rangelands are the heart of the Society. Do you have a land manager in your Section that exemplifies the science and art of range management? Now is your chance to recognize them for their conservation efforts by inviting them to submit an Excellence in Rangeland Management Poster.
The objective of the Excellence in Rangeland Management Award is to demonstrate to the public and other rangeland managers, outstanding examples of rangeland management which result in long-term health and sustainability of the range resource while providing efficient production of livestock, wood products, water, wildlife, aesthetic values, recreation, and other non- commodity values.
Abstracts are limited to 1 submission per Section and must be submitted to the SRM Awards Committee Chair by December 15, 2017. Posters would be presented and judged at the 2018 Annual Meeting in Sparks with the winner being recognized during the awards ceremony. More information on this award can be found and page 20 of the Awards Committee Handbook.
If you have specific questions regarding the nomination process, please contact the Awards Committee Chair, Miranda Meehan, at miranda.meehan@ndsu.edu or 701.231.7683.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to nominating the best of the best from your Sections!
