KRC’s Annual Conference is recognized as a must-attend event by anyone involved in farming, ranching, community food solutions or other work in advancing alternative systems. Past presenters have included Jonathan Lundgren, Blue Dasher Farm and ECDYSIS; Liz Carlisle, author of Lentil Underground; Jeff Moyer, Rodale Institute; Ricardo Salvador, Union of Concerned Scientists Senior Scientist; Fred Kirschenmann, Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture Distinguished Fellow; Wes Jackson, The Land Institute Founder and President; Joel Brown, USDA Range Management Specialist; and Marion Nestle, New York University Nutritionist.
The conference covers a wide range of topics, including practical sustainable farming and ranching techniques, local food initiatives and opportunities for involvement, legislative and policy updates and analysis, conservation practices and programs, farm planning, risk management, alternative enterprises, climate change mitigation strategies for the farm/ranch, and biodiversity-enhancing agricultural practices.
