IOA is working to grow awareness about the diverse benefits organic offers our planet and personal health. Many of us come to the organic movement because of health — whether in the field or in the kitchen.
Understanding where our food comes from (a farmstead 20 miles down the road or off a truck that traveled from thousands of miles away) or how it was produced (using biological and natural methods or synthetic herbicides, pesticides, hormones and antibiotics) is so important to sustaining our own health, but also regenerating a healthy, functioning ecosystem for generations to come.
We are excited to welcome two notable food-health advocates as keynotes for this year’s Annual Meeting. Both Angela Tedesco and Dr. Andy Nish will provide their perspectives and experiences about the value and importance of organic for good health.
Angela Tedesco
Angela is an organic farmer, sustainable farming advocate and author of Finding Turtle Farm: My Twenty-Acre Adventure in Community Supported Agriculture. Angela will share about her passion and purpose for organic farming and food and health. Books will be for sale at the event.
Dr. Andy Nish
Dr. Nish is the current Medical Director of the John Stoddard Cancer Center. He has dedicated his medical career to learning and teaching about the impact of food on human health and how current agricultural practices impact the health of people, animals, our food systems, and our environment.
Local-organic meal, cash bar, and prize drawings throughout the program.
Please RSVP to attend.
