Heart of America Grazing Conference

The Heart of America Grazing Conference is a joint educational effort between Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri university, government, industry, and producer representatives to provide livestock producers with the most current regional grazing information and resources.

The afternoon program begins at 1:00 pm EST on January 22, 2019 as attendees register for the conference and filter through the exhibitor area viewing displays and silent auction material. The evening will kick off at 6:00 pm with dinner followed by a speaker.

Speakers for the 2019 conference will include: Dr. Scott Barao, the Hedgeapple Farm Foundation, Dr. R.P. “Doc” Cooke, owner of 499 ranch and veterinarian, Dr. Keith Johnson, Purdue University Forage Extension Specialist, Dr. Grant Burcham, Director of the Southern Indiana Heeke Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Dr. Ray Smith, University of Kentucky Forage Extension Specialist and a few other speakers to be added.

Topics will range from grazing management to red clover to starting a grass finished beef operation to understanding plant growth and rest needs to knowing about forage-related animal disorders.
