BARABOO, Wis. — Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association announces the retirement of Scott Herrman, Equity Sparta Market Manager. Scott has been dedicated to Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association for 23 years.
Throughout the years, Scott has been responsible for managing Equity’s Sparta market, field services and supporting producers in the marketing of their livestock. “ I have seen many changes in the livestock marketing industry during my employment with Equity,” states Herrman. “I have enjoyed the opportunities to meet and work with many producers.”
Herrman will officially retire on July 15, 2022, and he is looking forward to traveling and fishing during his time in retirement. Equity Livestock would like to thank Scott for his years of service and wish him the best in his retirement.
Sparta’s Assistant Market Manager, Hut Amend, has stepped into the role of Sparta’s Market Manager. Amend has a degree in Ag Business Management from Fox Valley Technical College and he has an auctioneering certificate from Continental Auctioneer School.
As Sparta Market Manager, Amend will oversee the Sparta Market operations and staff. He will work with producers and truckers, as well as develop and maintain relationships with buyers. “I look forward to assisting producers with their livestock marketing needs and providing additional opportunities that will allow the Sparta market to grow” states Amend.

Equity operates 11 auction markets, with a collection point in Menominee, Mich., and a livestock marketing center in Arlington, Wises. Equity services producers in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, and assists producers with the marketing, managing and financing of their agricultural businesses.
