CHAZY, N.Y. — EquiDay 2017 at Miner Institute in Chazy, NY is a day-long symposium on horse topics to launch the spring season in the North Country. Saturday, March 18th the doors will open at 9 a.m. for FREE registration and refreshments with the speaker program starting at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m. ending with door prize drawings. Lunch will be available for purchase.
Sharon Wilsie of Westminster, VT, clinician and author of the new book, Horse Speak: The Equine-Human Translation Guide, will present two related topics. The first will be Horse Language Decoded to help us learn to better read what our horses are trying to tell us and the second will be how to use Horse Speak to build a better rapport with the horse. Dr. Lynn Geoffroy, a veterinarian and professor at SUNY Cobleskill will use her expertise and experience as a vet and senior-horse owner to present on how best to care for the older horse. The Eastern Mountain Ranch Horse Association’s President is our neighbor, Sue Chagnon of Dare to Dream Farm in Mooers, NY. Sue will present an Introduction to Ranch Horse Versatility. Lending a helping hand is what the North Country Hay Bank is all about; executive director of this newly formed 501(c)3, Christine Bush, will take a few minutes to talk about the Hay Bank, what it hopes to accomplish and how we can help. Adirondack Tack of Plattsburgh, NY returns again with a fashion show and describe the outfits for various disciplines. A good time to find out the latest in what’s hot, what’s NOT, and what’s comfortable!
