OKLAHOMA CITY — The cartridges rolled in and so did the cash. For the past year, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) members have been saving Ralgro and Revalor cartridges. This past week that one simple activity yielded $1,604.00 for the OCA.
For every empty cartridge returned during OCA’s Annual Convention and Trade Show, Merck Animal Health gave $.25 to the organization’s special projects fund.
“We appreciate all our members that saved their empty cartridges this past year,” says Byron Yeoman, recently elected OCA President. “The Cartridges for Cash program will allow us to provide scholarships to young beef producers to participate in national educational programs and events in later this year.”
The Cartridges for Cash program is a partnership between Merck Animal Health and participating state cattlemen’s organizations. Members bring in their empty cartridges to their annual state meeting to help raise money for their association.
“We’re pleased so many Oklahoma producers benefit from a cartridge of Ralgro or Revelaor at their farm or ranch and then turn that cartridge into value for their state cattlemen’s group,” said Roy Lee Gates, sales representative for Merck Animal Health. “This program is a small way Merck Animal Health can team up with rrour customers to strengthen the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.”

The 69th Annual OCA Convention and Trade Show was held July 23 and 24 at the Embassy Suites in Norman, Okla. The event is held in conjunction with the Oklahoma CattleWomen, Inc., and the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen’s Association’s Annual Meetings. The OCA Convention and Trade Show is the largest annual gathering of beef producers in Oklahoma. Cattlemen and women come together to create policy, listen to informative speakers, celebrate industry accomplishments, and recognize individuals and groups, like Merch Animal Health, who contribute to the success of the OCA.
The OCA is the trusted voice of the Oklahoma Cattle Industry. OCA is the only voice that speaks solely for the cattlemen of Oklahoma and represents beef producers in all 77 counties across the state. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line. For more information about OCA membership, the theft reward program or activities call 405-235-4391 or visit www.okcattlemen.org.
