KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Emerging Research on Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Conference is a joint effort between Farm Foundation and USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS) to bring cutting-edge research on issues facing beginning farmers and ranchers to the forefront of discussion in agriculture. Researchers in academia and government, practitioners, policy experts, farmers and ranchers are encouraged to take part in the sessions, which will feature paper presentations from leading scholars in the field. Research topics such as credit and access to capital, land access, innovation, alternative markets and more will be discussed by highlighting successful programs, innovative ideas and future solutions—all with a dedicated focus on economic research into the challenges and opportunities experienced by new agriculture professionals. In addition, there will be several networking opportunities for attendees to connect for collaborations to help build a sustainable future for agriculture.
