CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council will host a winter grazing workshop on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Friendship Center located at the Carroll County Fairgrounds, 100 Kensington Rd NE, Carrollton, OH 44615.
The program will kickoff the Council’s 2019 Winter Grazing Workshop Series. Topics to be covered include:
• Grazing Record Keeping – Producer Panel
• Grazing Technology – Katelyn Valdinger, Carroll SWCD
• Grazing Plans 101 – Kevin Swope, USDA-NRCS
• Programs Available for Producers – OSU Extension, ODA, USDA-NRCS

The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council pasture walks are normally held on the fourth Thursday of the month April through October on various farms throughout Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Stark and Tuscarawas counties. In January, February and March, winter workshops are held. Anyone interested in the conservation of soil and water through growing and grazing forages is encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.
The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council strives to promote the conservation of our soil and water by growing and grazing forages and members serve as advocates for sustainable and environmentally sound grazing practices.
