CLEAR LAKE, S.D. — Two fans of local business are teaming up to spread the word about Travel Backroads; a local business directory for those that call South Dakota and “the plains” home. This new website is designed to showcase and promote businesses on rural roads or city streets.
Beginning a volunteer “Fan” page on Facebook in 2015, Joan Sacrison of Clear Lake, SD, asked people to post their favorite businesses. She decided this spring to take it one step further and begin a website that would feature all local businesses after she saw what a hit her Facebook page was. The whole concept is centered on business owners and working together which in turn makes business better for everyone. Nicole Johnson of NJMGMT Consulting in Aberdeen, SD is joining forces with Travel Backroads as a storyteller and sales management. She brings her own experience and expertise to the mix.
Combining their resources, they will continue to build their newly launched online website and feature a mobile-friendly App directory, complete with many social media sites to help promotion. The website goes by the name Travel Backroads and features “your story, directory of Ads and listings, map, about section, blog and can sign up for their emails.
“Business owners have a great deal on their plate and marketing is just one of many aspects. We want to take some of that pressure off and help.” Joan Sacrison shared on the Facebook’s page. “It’s a passion for both of us to drive traffic through the doors of businesses of all kinds; clothing stores, local foods, restaurants, coffee shops and any business that is located in South Dakota and the bordering states of MN, IA, MT, ND, WY.
Having just gone live, the Travel Backroads online directory website is looking ahead to it’s future as they market and promote those businesses who are advertising with them. Directory listings are minimal and are great for all year. A map is featured on the website (www.travelbackroads.today) that will connect all the local businesses together. Anyone taking a day trip or touring the states can use it to find local.
Advertisements are annual and an Ad agreement can be purchased online at @travelbackroads.today on Facebook or at www.Travelbackroads.today. “I’m excited to start this for those “gems in the rough” that bring color and travelers to our communities and I want to be able to share their unique and special features that they offer.” Joan Sacrison invites you to contact her at (605) 210-0575 or Nicole Johnson at (651) 336-9684 for more information, or email travelbackroads.gmail.com.
