JEFFERSON CITY — On Tuesday, August 14, more than 650 Missouri FFA members will gather in Sedalia for the Drive to Feed Kids event.
In 2017, Missouri Farmers Care launched the Drive to Feed Kids in an effort to combat childhood hunger and showcase Missouri agriculture. The event provided 52,000 meals and 9,000 pounds of food donations to Missouri children who face hunger on a regular basis.
Now in its second year, the Drive to Feed Kids is continuing to bring FFA members together to spend the day packing meals for Feeding Missouri, the coalition of six Missouri food banks.
After surpassing the goal of 50,000 meals in 2017, FFA members have set a new goal of packing 100,000 meals for kids in need.
If you’re interested in donating to the Drive to Feed Kids, canned food items will be collected at the Centennial Gate entrance to the State Fair on Tuesday in exchange for a discounted admission price.
