WELLS, Maine — University of Maine Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will offer a workshop on Drip Irrigation, 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday, May 17, at Wells Reserve, 342 Laudholm Farm Road, Wells.
UMaine Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Allan Amioka will lead the program, explaining how drip irrigation saves valuable time and water resources and why plants respond favorably. Participants will learn how to install a simple drip irrigation system in the home garden. Meet at the Mather Auditorium building. A second workshop on Hydroponic Gardening will be offered at the same location, 4 – 6 pm, Thursday, June 7. Master Gardener Volunteers Jolene Staruch and Allan Amioka will walk you through the basics of growing lettuce, herbs and more, indoors – hydroponically!
