LAMBERTON, Minn. — The 38th annual Southwest Minnesota Ag Lenders Conference will feature a keynote address by Dr. David Kohl. The conference will be held in-person (limited seats available) on August 12th with an online option for those who prefer to participate virtually. Agricultural lenders and farm management and agribusiness professionals throughout southwest Minnesota are encouraged to attend.
Dr. Dave Kohl is an academic Hall of Famer in the College of Agriculture at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. His keynote address is titled Lending in the agricultural marketplace 2021 and beyond. The pandemic’s impact and lasting effects have created economic and financial ripples that will be observed throughout the decade. Global trade, consumer behaviors, supply and marketing chains, and other disruptors are creating challenges, while simultaneously presenting opportunities in the agricultural lending marketplace.
Other presentations will cover current research at the SWROC, emerging financial and profitability trends for Southwest Minnesota, cover crop opportunities, and financial considerations in cover cropping.
