RICHMOND, Va. — Gov. Ralph S. Northam has appointed Dr. Jewel Bronaugh as the 16th Commissioner of Agriculture.
Bronaugh comes to the post from Virginia State University, where she was Executive Director to VSU’s Center for Agricultural Research, Engagement and Outreach; and before that, Dean of VSU’s College of Agriculture. She also served as State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency.
A native of Petersburg, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from James Madison University, a master’s in Education and a doctorate in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Tech.
