BISMARCK, N.D. — Can we safely say spring has sprung? Well, if it’s any sign of when farmers get into the field that spring is finally here, this weekend I saw pictures that were posted on social media of guys doing just that right here in central North Dakota.
Although the traffic in the fields isn’t high right now, it is starting to happen. And therefore, I think we can safely say spring is finally here.
So, a reminder to everyone. When you’re out driving in the countryside, looking for the first crocuses out in the pastures, admiring the sunrises or the sunsets, be cautious. Be aware that the traffic on the roadways will increase, especially those side roads, those county roads, those townships roads that lead to fields all across this state.
Farmers and ranchers will be moving their big equipment, their heavy trucks, and will be working long hours to get the crop in the ground, to grow that food which our state, our country and our world needs.
So, come on out and enjoy the countryside. We like to share it with you, but be aware, there’s going to be a lot of traffic in a short period of time, here, to get the needed work done to get the crops growing in the fields.
And farmers and ranchers, be aware that there are other folks out there sharing those roads with us, and take that extra time when you’re coming over that hill or around that blind curve, to make sure that everyone has a safe experience out here on the countryside, in our great state of North Dakota.
