HUDSON, N.Y. — Ag Day will be held on Saturday, June 3 from 10AM to 3PM on the campus of Columbia-Greene Community College. This is a family-oriented festival, taking place rain or shine, offering hands-on activities and new experiences for all ages. It is a free public event celebrating the 100th anniversary of Cornell Cooperative Extension in both Columbia County and Greene County and the 50th anniversary of Columbia-Greene Community College.
This is a celebration of the many years of C-GCC and CCE Columbia and Greene having been active participants in these counties in support of our local citizens and their well-being. Individuals and families will be able to learn more about their neighbors – the farms and farmers who are providing a large economic and tourism base for our counties.
Along with the many exhibitors who will have farm animals, children’s activities and locally made products for sale there will also be a full day of demonstrations.
The Opening Ceremony will take place at 11AM and will be followed by demonstrations on the half-hour throughout the day. The demonstration/presentation schedule is as follows:
11:15 – Columbia County Dairy Princess, Caitlin Dearnley – milk punch
11:30 – 1st Alternate NYS Dairy Princess, Sudney Parkin – pictures with a princess
11:30 – CCE Master Gardener Volunteers – properties of soils
12:00 – Farm Friends 4-H Club – calves and lambs
12:15 – Garrett Pough – acoustic guitar music
