DODGE CITY, Kan. — The 65th Annual 3i SHOW welcomes back the Dodge City Community College Rodeo Team! In what has become a tradition, the DC3 Rodeo Team will lead Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, March 21, at 10 a.m. with a Presentation of Colors in a flag ceremony honoring all veterans. The DC3 Rodeo Team led Opening Ceremonies last year and in 2016.
A College Rodeo Showcase consisting of at least a dozen Conquistador riders, ropers, and wrestlers will immediately follow Opening Ceremonies in the Special Events Arena. Gabe Burrows, DC3 Rodeo Coach, and the team will demonstrate every event they compete in.
“It’s an honor for the Dodge City Community College rodeo team to be part of the 3i SHOW,” said Gabe Burrows, DC3 rodeo coach. “We’re proud to represent the college and the community, and all of our athletes are excited to showcase their skills in the arena.”
Team members and Burrows will stick around to speak with the throngs of high school students expected to be at the 3i SHOW on Thursday for High School Ag Career Day.
“The 3i SHOW is a mainstay around here,” Burrows said, “and we’re just happy to be out there talking to students and the community and getting everything kicked off.”
Every February, the team kicks off their spring season with the K-State Rodeo, and with the team returning from Manhattan just days before the show starts, Burrows said it’s nice to be a part of both traditions and to help get things rolling early in the year.
